Chris Mar was the first National Chief Instructor of the Taiwan SWAT Police formed in 1985. He is the Founding Chief Instructor of the Rapid Reaction Deployment Tactical Support Group, and the Founder of Taiwan’s Special Tactical Combatives Methodology. He developed the Tactical Baton, Tactical Riot Systems, Special Ops Close Quarters Combat Systems, and SWAT Riot Extraction Systems. He is the only person to simultaneously hold authorization as Chief Tactical Instructor on both sides of the Taiwan Straits. He is certified as Tactical Close Quarters Combat Chief Instructor of the Special Police Group Elite Instructor’s Squad and Armed Antiterrorist Military Police of the People’s Liberation Army, Beijing China, He has facilitated tactical consulting to the Shanghai Metro Deputy Commissioner and the CAT Squadron. Chris Mar has received the National Medal for Meritorious Service, Medal of Commendation and has received 8 commendations by Chief of Police islandwide.
- Founded the (APA) Tactical Close Quarters Combat Systems which is still in use exclusively by the SWAT. He was active in numerous operations, task forces and missions. Including leading a Rapid Deployment Extractor Squadron during the May 20 Riots which is the first time extraction and snatch techniques were used on Taiwan. He helped to establish a Non-Escalation policy which is considered to be the key factor for the maintaining of stability in demonstrations since then.
- In Business, Chris Mar is currently serving as the Vice Chairman and VP for Chung Hwa Universal Technology Inc. He is knowledgeable in Network Security, Configuration Management, Penetration Applications, Physical Security, Web Portals, Web Site Administration, and is has been awarded 3 times for Design and Graphics by the Web Designers Community. http://utsi.cc http://tianma.cc http://aquao2.com He has a technical background in Soft Contact Lens laboratory production and was responsible for the initiation of Movado Watches and Century Time Gems into the Taiwan Market.
- In Music, Chris Mar is an accomplished musician and singer/song-writer. In 1983 Chris was considered one of the best guitarists in Asia and co-Produced a #1 “Best Selling” Album with Lo Da Yo. Also known as one of the pioneers of Progressive Rock music on Taiwan, he composed and performed a song which hit #1 on the BCC National Radio Charts for 5 weeks. He continues to compose music and is working on his 4th solo release.
