The term Geneva Convention refers to four different treaties.

• First Geneva Convention
• Second Geneva Convention
• Third Geneva Convention of 12 August 1949, dealing with the treatment of Prisoners of War. This is usually the document people are referring to when they speak of the Geneva Convention without reference to which one it is.
• Fourth Geneva Convention dealing with the treatment of civilians and others who are not combatants.
