| 1:1 THE WORD of the Lord that came unto Hosea the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel. |
1:1 דבריהוה אשר היה אלהושע בןבארי בימי עזיה יותם אחז יחזקיה מלכי יהודה ובימי ירבעם בןיואש מלך ישראל |
| 1:2 When the Lord spoke at first with Hosea, the Lord said unto Hosea: 'Go, take unto thee a wife of harlotry and children of harlotry; for the land doth commit great harlotry, departing from the Lord.' |
1:2 תחלת דבריהוה בהושע ויאמר יהוה אלהושע לך קחלך אשת זנונים וילדי זנונים כיזנה תזנה הארץ מאחרי יהוה |
| 1:3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; and she conceived, and bore him a son. |
1:3 וילך ויקח אתגמר בתדבלים ותהר ותלדלו בן |
| 1:4 And the Lord said unto him: 'Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will visit the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel. |
1:4 ויאמר יהוה אליו קרא שמו יזרעאל כיעוד מעט ופקדתי אתדמי יזרעאל עלבית יהוא והשבתי ממלכות בית ישראל |
| 1:5 And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.' |
1:5 והיה ביום ההוא ושברתי אתקשת ישראל בעמק יזרעאל |
| 1:6 And she conceived again, and bore a daughter. And He said unto him: 'Call her name Lo-ruhamah; for I will no more have compassion upon the house of Israel, that I should in any wise pardon them. |
1:6 ותהר עוד ותלד בת ויאמר לו קרא שמה לא רחמה כי לא אוסיף עוד ארחם אתבית ישראל כינשא אשא להם |
| 1:7 But I will have compassion upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the Lord their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, nor by horses, nor by horsemen.' |
1:7 ואתבית יהודה ארחם והושעתים ביהוה אלהיהם ולא אושיעם בקשת ובחרב ובמלחמה בסוסים ובפרשים |
| 1:8 Now when she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived, and bore a son. |
1:8 ותגמל אתלא רחמה ותהר ותלד בן |
| 1:9 And He said: 'Call his name Lo-ammi; for ye are not My people, and I will not be yours.' |

| 2:1 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass that, instead of that which was said unto them: 'Ye are not My people', it shall be said unto them: 'Ye are the children of the living God.' |
2:1 והיה מספר בניישראל כחול הים אשר לאימד ולא יספר והיה במקום אשריאמר להם לאעמי אתם יאמר להם בני אלחי |
| 2:2 And the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint themselves one head, and shall go up out of the land; for great shall be the day of Jezreel. |
2:2 ונקבצו בנייהודה ובניישראל יחדו ושמו להם ראש אחד ועלו מןהארץ כי גדול יום יזרעאל |
| 2:3 Say ye unto your brethren: 'Ammi'; and to your sisters, 'Ruhamah.' |
2:3 אמרו לאחיכם עמי ולאחותיכם רחמה |
| 2:4 Plead with your mother, plead; for she is not My wife, neither am I her husband; and let her put away her harlotries from her face, and her adulteries from between her breasts; |
2:4 ריבו באמכם ריבו כיהיא לא אשתי ואנכי לא אישה ותסר זנוניה מפניה ונאפופיה מבין שדיה |
| 2:5 Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst. |
2:5 פןאפשיטנה ערמה והצגתיה כיום הולדה ושמתיה כמדבר ושתה כארץ ציה והמתיה בצמא |
| 2:6 And I will not have compassion upon her children; for they are children of harlotry. |
2:6 ואתבניה לא ארחם כיבני זנונים המה |
| 2:7 For their mother hath played the harlot, she that conceived them hath done shamefully; for she said: 'I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.' |
2:7 כי זנתה אמם הבישה הורתם כי אמרה אלכה אחרי מאהבי נתני לחמי ומימי צמרי ופשתי שמני ושקויי |
| 2:8 Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and I will make a wall against her, that she shall not find her paths. |
2:8 לכן הננישך אתדרכך בסירים וגדרתי אתגדרה ונתיבותיה לא תמצא |
| 2:9 And she shall run after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them, and she shall seek them, but shall not find them; then shall she say: 'I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.' |
2:9 ורדפה אתמאהביה ולאתשיג אתם ובקשתם ולא תמצא ואמרה אלכה ואשובה אלאישי הראשון כי טוב לי אז מעתה |
| 2:10 For she did not know that it was I that gave her the corn, and the wine, and the oil, and multiplied unto her silver and gold, which they used for Baal. |
2:10 והיא לא ידעה כי אנכי נתתי לה הדגן והתירוש והיצהר וכסף הרביתי לה וזהב עשו לבעל |
| 2:11 Therefore will I take back My corn in the time thereof, and My wine in the season thereof, and will snatch away My wool and My flax given to cover her nakedness. |
2:11 לכן אשוב ולקחתי דגני בעתו ותירושי במועדו והצלתי צמרי ופשתי לכסות אתערותה |
| 2:12 And now will I uncover her shame in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of My hand. |
2:12 ועתה אגלה אתנבלתה לעיני מאהביה ואיש לאיצילנה מידי |
| 2:13 I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feasts, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her appointed seasons. |
2:13 והשבתי כלמשושה חגה חדשה ושבתה וכל מועדה |
| 2:14 And I will lay waste her vines and her fig-trees, whereof she hath said: 'These are my hire that my lovers have given me'; and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them. |
2:14 והשמתי גפנה ותאנתה אשר אמרה אתנה המה לי אשר נתנולי מאהבי ושמתים ליער ואכלתם חית השדה |
| 2:15 And I will visit upon her the days of the Baalim, wherein she offered unto them, and decked herself with her ear-rings and her jewels, and went after her lovers, and forgot Me, saith the Lord. |
2:15 ופקדתי עליה אתימי הבעלים אשר תקטיר להם ותעד נזמה וחליתה ותלך אחרי מאהביה ואתי שכחה נאםיהוה |
| 2:16 Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly unto her. |
2:16 לכן הנה אנכי מפתיה והלכתיה המדבר ודברתי עללבה |
| 2:17 And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope; and she shall respond there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt. |
2:17 ונתתי לה אתכרמיה משם ואתעמק עכור לפתח תקוה וענתה שמה כימי נעוריה וכיום1 עלתה מארץמצרים |
| 2:18 And it shall be at that day, saith the Lord, that thou shalt call Me Ishi, and shalt call Me no more Baali. |
2:18 והיה ביוםההוא נאםיהוה תקראי אישי ולאתקראילי עוד בעלי |
| 2:19 For I will take away the names of the Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be mentioned by their name. |
2:19 והסרתי אתשמות הבעלים מפיה ולאיזכרו עוד בשמם |
| 2:20 And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground; and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the land, and will make them to lie down safely. |
2:20 וכרתי להם ברית ביום ההוא עםחית השדה ועםעוף השמים ורמש האדמה וקשת וחרב ומלחמה אשבור מןהארץ והשכבתים לבטח |
| 2:21 And I will betroth thee unto Me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto Me in righteousness, and in justice, and in lovingkindness, and in compassion. |
2:21 וארשתיך לי לעולם וארשתיך לי בצדק ובמשפט ובחסד וברחמים |
| 2:22 And I will betroth thee unto Me in faithfulness; and thou shalt know the Lord. |
2:22 וארשתיך לי באמונה וידעת אתיהוה |
| 2:23 And it shall come to pass in that day, I will respond, saith the Lord, I will respond to the heavens, and they shall respond to the earth; |
2:23 והיה ביום ההוא אענה נאםיהוה אענה אתהשמים והם יענו אתהארץ |
| 2:24 And the earth shall respond to the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall respond to Jezreel. |
2:24 והארץ תענה אתהדגן ואתהתירוש ואתהיצהר והם יענו אתיזרעאל |
| 2:25 And I will sow her unto Me in the land; and I will have compassion upon her that had not obtained compassion; and I will say to them that were not My people: 'Thou art My people'; and they shall say: 'Thou art my God.' |
2:25 וזרעתיה לי בארץ ורחמתי אתלא רחמה ואמרתי ללאעמי עמיאתה והוא יאמר אלהי |

| 3:1 And the Lord said unto me: 'Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend and an adulteress, even as the Lord loveth the children of Israel, though they turn unto other gods, and love cakes of raisins. |
3:1 ויאמר יהוה אלי עוד לך אהבאשה אהבת רע ומנאפת כאהבת יהוה אתבני ישראל והם פנים אלאלהים אחרים ואהבי אשישי ענבים |
| 3:2 So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver and a homer of barley, and a half-homer of barley; |
3:2 ואכרה לי בחמשה עשר כסף וחמר שערים ולתך שערים |
| 3:3 and I said unto her: 'Thou shalt sit solitary for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be any man's wife; nor will I be thine.' |
3:3 ואמר אליה ימים רבים תשבי לי לא תזני ולא תהיי לאיש וגםאני אליך |
| 3:4 For the children of Israel shall sit solitary many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without pillar, and without ephod or teraphim; |
3:4 כי ימים רבים ישבו בני ישראל אין מלך ואין שר ואין זבח ואין מצבה ואין אפוד ותרפים |
| 3:5 afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall come trembling unto the Lord and to His goodness in the end of days. |
3:5 אחר ישבו בני ישראל ובקשו אתיהוה אלהיהם ואת דוד מלכם ופחדו אליהוה ואלטובו באחרית הימים |

| 4:1 Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel! for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. |
4:1 שמעו דבריהוה בני ישראל כי ריב ליהוה עםיושבי הארץ כי איןאמת ואיןחסד ואיןדעת אלהים בארץ |
| 4:2 Swearing and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery! they break all bounds, and blood toucheth blood. |
4:2 אלה וכחש ורצח וגנב ונאף פרצו ודמים בדמים נגעו |
| 4:3 Therefore doth the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein doth languish, with the beasts of the field, and the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also are taken away. |
4:3 עלכן תאבל הארץ ואמלל כליושב בה בחית השדה ובעוף השמים וגםדגי הים יאספו |
| 4:4 Yet let no man strive, neither let any man reprove; for thy people are as they that strive with the priest. |
4:4 אך איש אלירב ואליוכח איש ועמך כמריבי כהן |
| 4:5 Therefore shalt thou stumble in the day, and the prophet also shall stumble with thee in the night; and I will destroy thy mother. |
4:5 וכשלת היום וכשל גםנביא עמך לילה ודמיתי אמך |
| 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to Me; seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children. |
4:6 נדמו עמי מבלי הדעת כיאתה הדעת מאסת ואמאסאך מכהן לי ותשכח תורת אלהיך אשכח בניך גםאני |
| 4:7 The more they were increased, the more they sinned against Me; I will change their glory into shame. |
4:7 כרבם כן חטאולי כבודם בקלון אמיר |
| 4:8 They feed on the sin of My people, and set their heart on their iniquity. |
4:8 חטאת עמי יאכלו ואלעונם ישאו נפשו |
| 4:9 And it is like people, like priest; and I will punish him for his ways, and will recompense him his doings. |
4:9 והיה כעם ככהן ופקדתי עליו דרכיו ומעלליו אשיב לו |
| 4:10 And they shall eat, and not have enough, they shall commit harlotry, and shall not increase; because they have left off to take heed to the Lord. |
4:10 ואכלו ולא ישבעו הזנו ולא יפרצו כיאתיהוה עזבו לשמר |
| 4:11 Harlotry, wine, and new wine take away the heart. |
4:11 זנות ויין ותירוש יקחלב |
| 4:12 My people ask counsel at their stock, and their staff declareth unto them; for the spirit of harlotry hath caused them to err, and they have gone astray from under their God. |
4:12 עמי בעצו ישאל ומקלו יגיד לו כי רוח זנונים התעה ויזנו מתחת אלהיהם |
| 4:13 They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and offer upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and terebinths, because the shadow thereof is good; therefore your daughters commit harlotry, and your daughters-in-law commit adultery. |
4:13 עלראשי ההרים יזבחו ועלהגבעות יקטרו תחת אלון ולבנה ואלה כי טוב צלה עלכן תזנינה בנותיכם וכלותיכם תנאפנה |
| 4:14 I will not punish your daughters when they commit harlotry, nor your daughters-in-law when they commit adultery; for they themselves consort with lewd women, and they sacrifice with harlots; and the people that is without understanding is distraught. |
4:14 לאאפקוד עלבנותיכם כי תזנינה ועלכלותיכם כי תנאפנה כיהם עםהזנות יפרדו ועםהקדשות יזבחו ועם לאיבין ילבט |
| 4:15 Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah become guilty; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Beth-aven, nor swear: 'As the Lord liveth.' |
4:15 אםזנה אתה ישראל אליאשם יהודה ואלתבאו הגלגל ואלתעלו בית און ואלתשבעו חייהוה |
| 4:16 For Israel is stubborn like a stubborn heifer; now shall the Lord feed them as a lamb in a large place? |
4:16 כי כפרה סררה סרר ישראל עתה ירעם יהוה ככבש במרחב |
| 4:17 Ephraim is joined to idols; let him alone. |
4:17 חבור עצבים אפרים הנחלו |
| 4:18 When their carouse is over, they take to harlotry; her rulers deeply love dishonour. |
4:18 סר סבאם הזנה הזנו אהבו הבו קלון מגניה |
| 4:19 The wind hath bound her up in her skirts; and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices. |

| 5:1 Hear this, O ye priests, and attend, ye house of Israel, and give ear, O house of the king, for unto you pertaineth the judgment; for ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor. |
5:1 שמעוזאת הכהנים והקשיבו בית ישראל ובית המלך האזינו כי לכם המשפט כיפח הייתם למצפה ורשת פרושה עלתבור |
| 5:2 And they that fall away are gone deep in making slaughter; and I am rejected of them all. |
5:2 ושחטה שטים העמיקו ואני מוסר לכלם |
| 5:3 I, even I, know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from Me; for now, O Ephraim, thou hast committed harlotry, Israel is defiled. |
5:3 אני ידעתי אפרים וישראל לאנכחד ממני כי עתה הזנית אפרים נטמא ישראל |
| 5:4 Their doings will not suffer them to return unto their God; for the spirit of harlotry is within them, and they know not the Lord. |
5:4 לא יתנו מעלליהם לשוב אלאלהיהם כי רוח זנונים בקרבם ואתיהוה לא ידעו |
| 5:5 But the pride of Israel shall testify to his face; and Israel and Ephraim shall stumble in their iniquity, Judah also shall stumble with them. |
5:5 וענה גאוןישראל בפניו וישראל ואפרים יכשלו בעונם כשל גםיהודה עמם |
| 5:6 With their flocks and with their herds they shall go to seek the Lord, but they shall not find Him; He hath withdrawn Himself from them. |
5:6 בצאנם ובבקרם ילכו לבקש אתיהוה ולא ימצאו חלץ מהם |
| 5:7 They have dealt treacherously against the Lord, for they have begotten strange children; now shall the new moon devour them with their portions. |
5:7 ביהוה בגדו כיבנים זרים ילדו עתה יאכלם חדש אתחלקיהם |
| 5:8 Blow ye the horn in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah; sound an alarm at Beth-aven: 'Behind thee, O Benjamin!' |
5:8 תקעו שופר בגבעה חצצרה ברמה הריעו בית און אחריך בנימין |
| 5:9 Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke; among the tribes of Israel do I make known that which shall surely be. |
5:9 אפרים לשמה תהיה ביום תוכחה בשבטי ישראל הודעתי נאמנה |
| 5:10 The princes of Judah are like them that remove the landmark; I will pour out My wrath upon them like water. |
5:10 היו שרי יהודה כמסיגי גבול עליהם אשפוך כמים עברתי |
| 5:11 Oppressed is Ephraim, crushed in his right; because he willingly walked after filth. |
5:11 עשוק אפרים רצוץ משפט כי הואיל הלך אחריצו |
| 5:12 Therefore am I unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness. |
5:12 ואני כעש לאפרים וכרקב לבית יהודה |
| 5:13 And when Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his wound, Ephraim went to Assyria, and sent to King Contentious; but he is not able to heal you, neither shall he cure you of your wound. |
5:13 וירא אפרים אתחליו ויהודה אתמזרו וילך אפרים אלאשור וישלח אלמלך ירב והוא לא יוכל לרפא לכם ולאיגהה מכם מזור |
| 5:14 For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah; I, even I, will tear and go away, I will take away, and there shall be none to deliver. |
5:14 כי אנכי כשחל לאפרים וככפיר לבית יהודה אני אני אטרף ואלך אשא ואין מציל |
| 5:15 I will go and return to My place, till they acknowledge their guilt, and seek My face; in their trouble they will seek Me earnestly: |

| 6:1 'Come, and let us return unto the Lord; for He hath torn, and He will heal us, He hath smitten, and He will bind us up. |
6:1 לכו ונשובה אליהוה כי הוא טרף וירפאנו יך ויחבשנו |
| 6:2 After two days will He revive us, on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His presence. |
6:2 יחינו מימים ביום השלישי יקמנו ונחיה לפניו |
| 6:3 And let us know, eagerly strive to know the Lord, His going forth is sure as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter rain that watereth the earth.' |
6:3 ונדעה נרדפה לדעת אתיהוה כשחר נכון מוצאו ויבוא כגשם לנו כמלקוש יורה ארץ |
| 6:4 O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the dew that early passeth away. |
6:4 מה אעשהלך אפרים מה אעשהלך יהודה וחסדכם כענןבקר וכטל משכים הלך |
| 6:5 Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets, I have slain them by the words of My mouth; and thy judgment goeth forth as the light. |
6:5 עלכן חצבתי בנביאים הרגתים באמריפי ומשפטיך אור יצא |
| 6:6 For I desire mercy, and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God rather than burnt-offerings. |
6:6 כי חסד חפצתי ולאזבח ודעת אלהים מעלות |
| 6:7 But they like men have transgressed the covenant; there have they dealt treacherously against Me. |
6:7 והמה כאדם עברו ברית שם בגדו בי |
| 6:8 Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, it is covered with footprints of blood. |
6:8 גלעד קרית פעלי און עקבה מדם |
| 6:9 And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so doth the company of priests; they murder in the way toward Shechem; yea, they commit enormity. |
6:9 וכחכי איש גדודים חבר כהנים דרך ירצחושכמה כי זמה עשו |
| 6:10 In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing; there harlotry is found in Ephraim, Israel is defiled. |
6:10 בבית ישראל ראיתי שעריריה שערוריה ם זנות לאפרים נטמא ישראל |
| 6:11 Also, O Judah, there is a harvest appointed for thee! When I would turn the captivity of My people, |

| 7:1 when I would heal Israel, then is the iniquity of Ephraim uncovered, and the wickedness of Samaria, for they commit falsehood; and the thief entereth in, and the troop of robbers maketh a raid without. |
7:1 כרפאי לישראל ונגלה עון אפרים ורעות שמרון כי פעלו שקר וגנב יבוא פשט גדוד בחוץ |
| 7:2 And let them not say to their heart--I remember all their wickedness; now their own doings have beset them about, they are before My face. |
7:2 ובליאמרו ללבבם כלרעתם זכרתי עתה סבבום מעלליהם נגד פני היו |
| 7:3 They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies. |
7:3 ברעתם ישמחומלך ובכחשיהם שרים |
| 7:4 They are all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker, who ceaseth to stir from the kneading of the dough until it be leavened. |
7:4 כלם מנאפים כמו תנור בערה מאפה ישבות מעיר מלוש בצק עדחמצתו |
| 7:5 On the day of our king the princes make him sick with the heat of wine, he stretcheth out his hand with scorners. |
7:5 יום מלכנו החלו שרים חמת מיין משך ידו אתלצצים |
| 7:6 For they have made ready their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait; their baker sleepeth all the night, in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire. |
7:6 כיקרבו כתנור לבם בארבם כלהלילה ישן אפהם בקר הוא בער כאש להבה |
| 7:7 They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges; all their kings are fallen, there is none among them that calleth unto Me. |
7:7 כלם יחמו כתנור ואכלו אתשפטיהם כלמלכיהם נפלו איןקרא בהם אלי |
| 7:8 Ephraim, he mixeth himself with the peoples; Ephraim is become a cake not turned. |

| 7:16 They return, but not upwards; they are become like a deceitful bow; their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue; this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt. |

| 14:1 Samaria shall bear her guilt, for she hath rebelled against her God; they shall fall by the sword; their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up. |
14:1 תאשם שמרון כי מרתה באלהיה בחרב יפלו עלליהם ירטשו והריותיו יבקעו |
| 14:2 Return, O Israel, unto the Lord thy God; for thou hast stumbled in thine iniquity. |
14:2 ובה ישראל עד יהוה אלהיך כי כשלת בעונך |
| 14:3 Take with you words, and return unto the Lord; say unto Him: 'Forgive all iniquity, and accept that which is good; so will we render for bullocks the offering of our lips. |
14:3 קחו עמכם דברים ושובו אליהוה אמרו אליו כלתשא עון וקחטוב ונשלמה פרים שפתינו |
| 14:4 Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses; neither will we call any more the work of our hands our gods; for in Thee the fatherless findeth mercy.' |
14:4 אשור לא יושיענו עלסוס לא נרכב ולאנאמר עוד אלהינו למעשה ידינו אשרבך ירחם יתום |
| 14:5 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely; for Mine anger is turned away from him. |
14:5 ארפא משובתם אהבם נדבה כי שב אפי ממנו |
| 14:6 I will be as the dew unto Israel; he shall blossom as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. |
14:6 אהיה כטל לישראל יפרח כשושנה ויך שרשיו כלבנון |
| 14:7 His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive-tree, and his fragrance as Lebanon. |
14:7 ילכו ינקותיו ויהי כזית הודו וריח לו כלבנון |
| 14:8 They that dwell under his shadow shall again make corn to grow, and shall blossom as the vine; the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon. |
14:8 ישבו ישבי בצלו יחיו דגן ויפרחו כגפן זכרו כיין לבנון |
| 14:9 Ephraim shall say: 'What have I to do any more with idols?' As for Me, I respond and look on him; I am like a leafy cypress-tree; from Me is thy fruit found. |
14:9 אפרים מהלי עוד לעצבים אני עניתי ואשורנו אני כברוש רענן ממני פריך נמצא |
| 14:10 Whoso is wise, let him understand these things, whoso is prudent, let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right, and the just do walk in them; but transgressors do stumble therein. |
14:10 מי חכם ויבן אלה נבון וידעם כיישרים דרכי יהוה וצדקים ילכו בם ופשעים יכשלו בם |
